Check out what my mates have to say about me here!
This one's pretty easy...I don't have any! I'm not a professional tour guide, a historian or an arts expert.
However, I am passionate, open-minded and I care deeply about my homeland. I love meeting new people and sharing knowledge and experiences, about my culture and yours.
It's really important to be clear that the recommendations I make are tailored to your interests, but based on my personal experiences.
I was not "born and bred" in Sydney. I grew up in Wagga Wagga (Wiradjuri), six hours inland from the nearest ocean. This has given me an overwhelming and unwavering appreciation for the incredible natural beauty and cultural diversity of Sydney (Eora). I simply love it. Every chance I get to talk to people about Sydney, I will.
I've lived in Sydney for 20 years now. Over this time I've been lucky to live all over this city, mostly around South Sydney, Redfern (Gadigal) and Northern Beaches, Manly (Guringai). It's easy to get stuck in your "bubble" in Sydney - the Inner West hipster bubble of Newtown, the beachy backpacker Bondi bubble, the list goes on. But I love all areas of Sydney. I am a firm believer there is beauty everywhere if you have an open heart. I travel at least once a week to areas of Sydney such as Campbelltown (Dharawal) and Granville (Darug) to socialise, train and enjoy new culture and experiences.
I spend a lot of time exploring the city, both my local area of South Sydney, and beyond. I love to walk anywhere I can - around the harbour, to neighboring suburbs for dinner, and into the city. We have some of the most accessible and spectacular coastal walks in the world in this city.
I love anything involving being on, in or under the water. Snorkelling at Shelley Beach in Manly is one of my favourite past-times, and I have swam in every single ocean pool from Manly to Avalon. I've swum with sharks in Maroubra, seals in Shellharbour and eagle rays in Manly. I am a PADI Advanced open water scuba diver, and about to embark on a mermaiding course.
I enjoy live music shows anywhere from small intimate venues like the Vanguard in Newtown, to the world famous Sydney Opera House, and I will rave to anyone about the amazing Art Gallery NSW - a free gallery in one of the most scenic areas of the city.
I compete at a national and international level in the sport of Strongman/Strongwoman - so I am very active in the strength sports community. I have trained in countless gyms across Sydney - from Minto to Manly. This travel has given me some really good insight into culturally diverse areas of Sydney I might not have otherwise known.
I love food. All types of food. I keep lists of restaurants I want to visit on my phone, and share new experiences with my family and friends all the time.
I respect freedom of choice, but if you are offended by feminism, tattoos, or modern clothing standards this is probably not the service for you.
I advocate equality and love for all people. Racism, sexism, ableism or any other form of bigotry will not be tolerated.
If you behave aggressively or offensively towards me or anyone we encounter on our tour, I will end the tour immediately.
We can not meet at private locations. All tours will take place in public spaces only.
I will ask to see your identification before we commence our tour.
Unfortunately, I don't speak any other languages. Of course I will absolutely do my best to accommodate you, and would love to learn a few phrases of your native tongue when we meet!
